Edgings

 What are Edgings?

Edgings create clean, crisp lines between beds and other areas. It is most visible between a lawn and the adjoining garden, but landscape edging can define a flower border, a shrub bed, a single tree, or the transition from a patio to the surrounding garden.

What are the benefits?

  • Attractive - edgings help increase the appeal of your yard. A well-designed edged landscape has a tidy and well-cared-for appearance that makes your garden look neat and properly maintained.
  • Clear borders - edgings create clean and clear lines between beds and other areas. The most visible places include a lawn and any adjoining garden. Also, lawn edging can define a shrub bed, flower border, a tree, or the transition from a patio to the surrounding garden.
  • Easy maintenance - Having a border makes the maintenance of a landscaped area easy for a homeowner. It’s easy to edge weeds or mow grass along a solid border compared to an open garden bed. Having the edging protects your plants from being damaged during the weeding and mowing process. This is because the edge comes in handy and protects them. Also, edging helps to control fertilization, irrigation, and chemical application in the garden bed. It separates your garden from the rest of the lawn. Keeping your garden contained is an essential part of landscaping.

The Installation Process

For use as a patio edging:
Once all the flags have been cut to perfection and set into place, beautiful edgings can be added. They will match the patio joints and really define the border of the lawn. The patio will be cleaned and a resin-based jointing compound will be brushed and compressed into the joints, creating a stark contrast to the flags which really brings out the shapes and colours of the paving.
